Thickwood Tower Trail - RECLAMATION AREAS

TO ALL SNO-DRIFTER MEMBERS AND USERS OF THE THICKWOOD TOWER TRAIL

PLEASE STAY OFF OF AREAS OF RECLAMATION AND PLEASE STAY ON THE SAFE, GROOMED TRAIL THAT WE PROVIDE

We are contacting you, as we know that many use the utility Rights of Way for recreation and access. Protection of the environment and maintenance of these routes are an important consideration for Pembina. We wish to ask for cooperation when using all terrain vehicles in the areas that are being reclaimed and repaired.

We monitor conditions on the Right of Way for erosion, hill movement and other events that cause sloughing, gulleys and other problems on hillsides, which pose a risk to the pipeline. Reclamation work includes management of water flow and drainage by construction of berms, drains and planting vegetation to avoid erosion.

We are advising of the presence of these structures and devices on the Pembina Right of Way, and the potential risks for those who may consider traveling through these reclamation areas. Reclamation work has included re-sloping, removal of ruts, berm construction, and underground drains. Reclamation has been done to stabilize soil and slopes. We ask for your cooperation in maintaining and protecting this work. For example, cloth has been laid in areas to prevent erosion and promote the growth of vegetation. Travel over this damages this restoration, stops re-growth and causes rutting.

Signs and markers will be posted in the reclaimed areas. We thank you for your attention to this topic. If you have further questions, you can contact:

 Pembina Pipeline at 1 - 780 -467 -6464.

In case of emergency, contact 1-800-360-4706, available 24 hours

Thank you,

Brent Dane
